The NWA's 33rd Annual Meeting will be held from October 11-16, 2008 at the Galt House Hotel and Suites, Louisville, Kentucky

THEME: Utilizing Our Past to Improve Our Future

THE ANNUAL MEETING WILL INCLUDE:

Saturday, October 11th: Seventh Annual Golf Outing to benefit the NWA Scholarship Fund will be held at Shawnee Golf Course in Louisville (10 minutes from the hotel and right on the river) http://www.shawneegolfcourse.com/golf/proto/playshawneegolf/. First tee time will be Noon and the fee will be only $75. Rental clubs will be available for only $5 which may be a nice option for those flying in view of increased charges for baggage.

Sunday October 12th:

BROADCAST METEOROLOGY WORKSHOP will include special presentations and other activities appropriate for the continuing education of weathercasters however is open to all. Tape Swap in the evening - bring a VHS tape of a recent weathercast for discussion.

Inaugural NWA Student Session will provide guidance for students regarding how to best prepare themselves to enter the workplace. Includes a large student poster session and networking opportunities with broadcasters and other NWA members.

Corporate Exhibits Open

Monday-Thursday, October 13-16:
General Sessions will consist of 16 oral and poster sessions including three historical weather sessions. Topics targeted include Weather Hazards (Intense Cold & Heat, and Wind), Tropical Weather, Ensemble Prediction & Pattern Recognition, Instrumentation & Techniques (Radar, Satellite, Observations and Mesonet), Severe Weather (Tornadoes, Wind and Hail, Lightning, and Cool Season Tornadoes), Winter Weather, HAZMAT & Emergency Response, Weather and Societal Impacts, Flooding, and much more! The annual Awards Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, October 15th.

ANNUAL MEETING REGISTRATION: The preregistration period ended 3 October 2008. Registration can still be accomplished online and will be available everyday at the Annual Meeting at the rates posted below. The registration fee includes a preprint volume with program and abstracts. For the period of days registered, it also includes: admission to all oral presentations, poster sessions, and exhibit sessions plus coffee/refreshment breaks. Full registration for October 13 - 16 includes the Wednesday Awards Luncheon.
