1200 UTC. The ridge over the Southern Plains influenced Claudette’s
organization and movement. The 1200 UTC 250 hPa map analysis (from
the Storm Prediction Center's Forecast Tools: Surface and Upper Air
Map webpage) also is provided to show the weak shear environment in
the vicinity of Hurricane Claudette that allowed the storm to intensify
before making landfall. |
