graph of wind data at Mount Fowlkes in the Davis Mountains

Figure #12...Meteogram showing the magnitude of measured wind speeds (yellow) and gusts (green) at an automated weather station located atop Mount Fowlkes (at the McDonald Observatory) in the Davis Mountains on 16 July 2003. Claudette’s distance from the observatory is also plotted (red). The graph shows a period of relatively strong winds/gusts associated with the passage of thunderstorm activity in one of Claudette’s outer rainbands between 1830 and 1930 UTC. The maximum winds observed at Mount Fowlkes occurred around 2200 UTC when Claudette passed within 60 km (south) of the Davis Mountains.
