Our activities have included...
Assisting in determining and planning workshops for the last several NWA Annual Meetings
Creating and maintaining the semi-regular article "Training Corner" in the NWA Newsletter, in which training materials and opportunities and other training-related news are highlighted; "Featured Links" are added regularly to the Training Committee Home Page
Developing a mentor program in which Training Committee members and other volunteers make themselves available to newer members for questions and advice on operational meteorology and research issues
Beginning a program with the Broadcast Committee in which BC members "mentor" aspiring broadcasters (and NWA members) by providing free critiques of their audition tapes
Continuing to develop and enhance the Training Committee Home Page
Providing and maintaining a comprehensive, web-based list of meteorological professional development resources; publishing and presenting websites pertaining to meteorological training and related issues
Sending notification of newly-added training links to the Newsletter for publication
Supporting and encouraging submissions to the National Weather Digest
Developing and conducting an online survey of meteorological training needs and methods
Seeking and promoting Internet sites with information on creating and conducting effective oral and poster presentations
