Amanda Mims Wins 2008 NWA Meteorological Satellite Applications Award

The Meteorological Satellite Applications Award was established by the National Weather Association (NWA) to stimulate interest and foster the study and use of satellite remote sensing data in weather analysis and forecasting.

Undergraduate students were invited to write an original paper on meteorological satellite applications. Themes of the papers may include original research, case studies, or a survey of applications. The recipient of the award receives a stipend of $500 and is invited to present their paper at the NWA Annual Meeting. This award is sponsored by Frances Holt, former Chair of the NWA Remote Sensing Committee.

The 2008 winner of this award is Ms.Amanda Mims, a senior at the University of Michigan (Letter of congratulations).
