National Weather Association (NWA)

2010 Annual Meeting Abstract Submission Form

Please use the following form to submit your abstract to the NWA Annual Meeting Program Committee for the 35th NWA Annual Meeting to be held at the Marriott Tucson University Park, across from the main gate of the University of Arizona, Tucson, Arizona, from October 2-7, 2010.

Abstracts, all author's names and affiliations, and the presenting author's affiliation address (for correspondence) will be printed in the meeting program, therefore, please review all entries before submitting to ensure accuracy and completeness.

If you need to make changes before final printing of the meeting program, please submit another full entry indicating it is a change from one submitted (give old paper title and date of submission at the beginning of the abstract text entry). If the change is short/minor, please e-mail it to the Program Committee Chair at annualmeeting@nwas.org and exdir@nwas.org.

Thank you for your superb efforts in accomplishing research, preparing a presentation and for your willingness to share it with NWA members and others to help make the NWA Annual Meeting a great learning opportunity for all attending. The NWA does not require a completed paper. Many of the abstracts submitted are on "works in progress" where authors are looking for comments on furthering their work and wanting to excite others to use the findings to improve weather support elsewhere.

If you have problems with this form or in transmitting it, please contact the NWA office at (919) 845-1546 or exdir@nwas.org. Thank you again!

Presenters will be notified via e-mail regarding the disposition of their abstracts by 15 August 2010 from the Program Committee. A preliminary agenda will be posted on the NWA Web site by early August for presenters to review and proofread. E-mail messages will be sent to presenters notifying them of the agenda posting.

Prior to the meeting, an FTP site will be established for authors to upload their oral presentation slides so that they can be run on NWA laptop computers. This will facilitate a smooth transition from one speaker to the next during the Annual Meeting sessions.

If you are not an NWA member and would like to consider joining, please browse to www.nwas.org/membership/. You do not have to be an NWA member to submit an abstract or to give a presentation at the Annual Meeting. Presenters and members are given discount meeting registration rates. Preregistration forms will be available in the NWA Newsletter and on the NWA Web site in June 2010.
